(Savarnnakhet, Laos) February 10, 2015 – Toyota Boshoku Lao Co., Ltd. (President: Shigeru Saigo) held a grand opening ceremony on February 10, at Savannakhet Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.This event has been conducted as one of the ceremony celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Lao.
About 400 people attended at the ceremony including the Deputy Prime Minister Mr.Somsavath Lengsavath, the Minister of National Committee Economic Control Special Economic Zone Ms. Bounpheng Mounphoxay, the Savannakhet Provincial Governor Dr. Souphan Keomixay, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Embassy of Japan in Lao PDR Mr. Hiroyuki Kishino, many other dignitaries and employees.
Toyota Boshoku Laois established as asubsidiary of Toyota Boshoku Asia Co., Ltd. which manufactures automobile seat covers tobe supplied to Toyota Boshoku’s Thai production base, utilizing a convenient distribution merit of East-West Economic Corridor.
“We aim to grow as a company loved by local people, by contributing to local communities including job creation in Savannakhet Province, through manufacturing of high quality products based on Toyota Boshoku’s manufacturing spirit ”, said President of Toyota Boshoku Lao Mr. Shigeru Saigo.
“It is the first time for Toyota Boshoku group to establish a manufacturing base in Laos, which has our core technology of sawing seat covers. I believe our ever-better manufacturing will be realized in this land of Laos, where great nature and people with kind smile and diligence grows, and it will strengthen our operation in Asia”, said the President of Toyota Boshoku Corporation Dr. Shuhei Toyoda.
