Social Media Policy

Introduction

Toyota Boshoku Asia and its group companies (hereinafter, the “Company”) have established the following Social Media Policy (hereinafter, the “Policy”) in order to improve communication with our customers (hereinafter, “User(s)”) involved in the Company’s information distribution and communication on social media.

Purpose of Social Media Use

The Company utilizes social media to communicate and distribute information to allow as many people as possible to understand our products/services and the thoughts and ideas of its employees toward them.

Frame of Mind for Social Media Use

The Company understands that social media is a forum for communication based on personal connections and is open to the world at large, which means that posting of information cannot be completely undone once the information is sent out, and we will participate in such interaction as sensible people and in a moderate manner.

1. We will observe not only the laws and regulations of the country and region, but also our internal regulations, such as the “Work Regulations,” which are the code of conduct for our employees.
2. We will listen to our stakeholders and proactively provide them with information so that they will have as beneficial of an experience as possible.
3. We will pay attention to the contents of information we provide and the means by which we provide such information, and will make efforts to prevent the distribution of erroneous information or misleading information.
4. We will promptly apologize and correct any misinformation or misleading expressions.
5. We will not misrepresent our identities, and will communicate and interact with others in a sensible manner.
6. We will abide by the rules of each social media site established or operated by a third party, and respect the culture and manners of each social media site.
7. We will respect the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, and other rights of third parties, and will not infringe on their rights or damage their reputations.

Matters to Be Observed/Permitted for Use

Replying to, deleting, blocking, etc. of posts

1.  Each social media platform has its own response policy, but we do not guarantee that we will respond to all the comments we receive.

2.  If a user posts any of the following (including any actions that may result in the following) on the Company’s official SNS accounts, the Company may take necessary measures such as reporting to the relevant social media operators or investigative authorities, deleting or requesting the deletion of the User’s posts, or temporarily or permanently blocking the User’s account, without prior or subsequent notice.

–     Content that is contrary to the law or public policy

–     Content related to criminal acts

–     Personal information (including facial photographs, etc.) for which the consent of the individual concerned has not been obtained

–     Content that attacks, criticizes, defames the honor or trust of, or slanders a specific individual or group

–     Obscene content

–     Content related to topics of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or politics

–     Any content that discriminates against race, thought, creed, etc. or content that facilitates discrimination

–     Content relating to political activities, election campaigns, religious activities, or other activities similar

–     Content that includes false information

–     Content that is considered to constitute impersonation of a third party

–     Content that includes malicious material such as harmful programs

–     Content that infringes on the trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights, portrait rights, privacy, or other rights of other Users, third parties, or the Company

–     Content that causes trouble, disadvantage, or damage to other Users, third parties, the Company, or our employees, etc.

–     Content that is prohibited by social media operators

–     Any acts that interfere with the operation of the Company’s official SNS accounts

–     Content that is against the purpose of these Regulations or is not related to the Company’s official SNS accounts

–     Any content for the purpose of commercial activities

–     Any act that alters part or all of the contents published on the Company’s official SNS accounts

–     Any other content or acts that the Company deems inappropriate

Follow / Share, etc.
The Company may follow other accounts, press the “like” button, etc. on other accounts’ posts or share (meaning share, etc.) such posts, or cancel or delete them as necessary.

Rights, etc.
Copyrights and all other intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights, design rights, patent rights, utility model rights, trademark rights, and know-how) to information posted by the Company on official SNS accounts, etc. belong to the Company or other parties with legitimate rights.

Personal Information
When the Company obtains personal information from any User, it will be managed appropriately in accordance with the Company’s “Handling of Personal Information.”

Compensation for Loss or Damage
If any User causes tangible or intangible damage to the Company in connection with the use of the Company’s social media, compensation for such loss or damage may be demanded.

Disclaimer

1. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the information on the Company’s social media. Information on the social media is current at the time of publication and may change subsequently.

2. The Company assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage resulting from the use of or unavailability for use of the Company’s social media.

3. The Company assumes no responsibility for any troubles or disputes that may arise between Users or between Users and third parties in connection with the Company’s social media.

4. The Company neither warrants nor approves the contents of any information provided by the User by posting or any other means.

5. The Company’s official announcements and distribution of opinions will be made on the Company’s website and in news releases, etc. Information that the Company and its employees distribute through social media does not necessarily represent the official pronouncements or opinions of the Company. Contents posted by Users do not reflect the opinions or thoughts of the Company, its employees, or related parties.

Policy Changes

The Company may change the contents of the Policy at any time without the consent of Users. In this case, the revised Policy shall become effective automatically upon publication by the Company on the website or by any other means.
